| Welcome message Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University of Abidjan-Cocody, Ladies and Gentlemen Professors, Dear participants of the ISPESFM Congress, Dear Colleagues, Distinguished Guests, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of Cocody, It is with profound gratitude that I speak today to sincerely thank the Minister for his invaluable support in the organization and success of this symposium, jointly organized by the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) and Félix Houphouët-Boigny University (UFHB) in Abidjan. Côte d’Ivoire truly is a land of hospitality, as we have witnessed since our arrival in Abidjan. The holding of this congress from October 21 to 24, 2024, is a genuine success thanks to your unwavering commitment to higher education and research. Once again, you have demonstrated your dedication to the promotion of knowledge and to scientific development, not only in Côte d’Ivoire but also internationally. The collaboration between your Ministry and the various stakeholders of this congress has been decisive. This spirit of cooperation is essential to enable researchers, teachers, and students to continue evolving within an environment conducive to academic excellence. We sincerely hope that this collaboration will endure. It is crucial to strengthen academic and scientific exchanges between our institutions to create synergies that foster innovation and sustainable development. In this respect, support for young researchers remains paramount. This is why I wish to emphasize the importance of continuing and intensifying doctoral scholarship initiatives. These scholarships play a crucial role in training future researchers, providing them with the resources needed to successfully carry out their work, contribute to scientific progress, and prepare to face the challenges our societies encounter. This congress pursues three main objectives: • To bring together researchers from the sub-region around the theme of “Energy”; • To inspire young scientists to pursue research with determination and courage; • To make Abidjan the central hub from which various research projects in the West Once again, we extend our sincere gratitude to you, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for your unwavering commitment. Your support is a powerful driver of the success of such initiatives. I would also like to thank my dear colleagues present here today, coming from several countries in the sub-region, for honoring this symposium with their presence. We have had the privilege of gathering 44 international researchers from diverse scientific and geographic backgrounds, including France, Spain, Slovenia, Algeria, Morocco, Togo, Benin, Senegal, and of course, Côte d’Ivoire. This diversity will enrich our exchanges, creating a true platform for knowledge sharing, scientific collaboration, and reflection on the future of research in this field.
